How an independent agency is paid
Jupiter Coverage Corp is an independent insurance agency. We are not an insurance company. When we place a policy, we are typically paid by the insurer — usually a commission that is a percentage of the premium, and sometimes a fee that is disclosed when it applies.
What that means for you
- Different insurers may pay different commission rates for the same line of business.
- We may also receive contingent or bonus compensation from an insurer based on volume, growth, or profitability of the book of business, not on a single policy.
- If a fee is charged in addition to or instead of commission, it will be shown before you bind.
